During the First World War, French air ace Michel Bouchard and his dove emblem became famous in the skies, above France. He and his fellow pilots fought long and hard until the enemy had been driven from their country.
But by 1940, Michel was long gone from the skies though the enemy were back in force. Who would fight them this time? Luckily, there were young men, French and British, who took up Michel’s work. And strangely enough, one of them carried the dove emblem with him into the air again.
