Rex Barton was a top British film star who had played the hero in film after film. And every time he was a tougher, harder-hitting hero. When the war broke out, he was safe in Hollywood, but a man like Rex couldn’t just sit by and watch it all happen. So he joined the RAF as a pilot — determined to prove a film star hero could be a real life hero when the chips were down, and the bullets lethal.
