Charlie Potter was a bright, young teacher with aspirations of being sent to the Education Corps. Although he was toffee‑nosed, he was a good bloke really. But every NCO and officer whose path he crossed was glad to see the back of him. Trouble – that was Charlie, a unanimous verdict.
So what did the army do? They promoted him and posted him around until he found himself on a remote Scottish island, a base for a hush-hush radio establishment.
Now there really would be trouble on the grandest scale yet!
